The Open Source Buddhist Research Institute - Madison
Welcome to the world's first free online internet documentary archive presenting philosophy and religion, focusing on Buddhism. We are an open source for Buddhism and seek to compare all traditions of earth within the expansive framework of this Indian psychological and philosophical tradition.
We seek to expand our educational video presentations to an increasingly wide audience around the globe. It is our conviction that the spread of a greater, global awareness of philosophy, religion and Buddhism will aid in the spread of peace throughout our planet.
The many documentaries were produced by students of Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, who has long believed the key to a better world lies in communication and understanding.
Above are a small number of number original files of the almost 600 published documentaries posted on our YouTube channel at Open Source Buddhism. The longer download time may prove worth it. Instructors have contacted me for originals for presentation in their classes. Comments upon them world-wide are astonishingly diverse, as have been my students, thanks the Lord(s)!
These are great for supplementing your child's knowledge of religion and philosophy (so lacking in public schools) and aid the college student and non-specialist to understand some complex topics easily and enjoyably. Students have written me from around the globe to say that watching one or other of these student-made documentaries aided their study for exams.
The courses are available to peruse the online course materials at your leisure or contact the webmaster for details concerning web-cam tutorials.
