: A poubha is the more ancient,
Newari form of Buddhist art and more resembles the originals of the
ancient Indian Buddhist realm. The Tibetan thangka is
modeled upon these. The former are more "lavish" and
"passionate" tantric art symbols, while the Tibetan forms,
though very beautiful as well, tend to be more
"two-dimensional" and less oriented to the
"passions."
Any size or figure may be ordered and
drawn by a Kathmandu artist upon request. As a rule of thumb,
these are the principles that guide their production:
1 bigger the size the more expensive
2 the older the more expensive
3 packaging costs might be extra if express shipment is required or
if the Buddhist artwork is larger than average.
4 they are only in sheets . - crystal flames or
mounting frames are not included but may be added. Inquire
about this.
